Message rulesThanks to the Message Rules you can efficiently perform various operations involving PostCast incoming messages. You may move the messages to various folders, automatically reply to or forward certain messages etc.
Adding Message Rules When you want to add the Message Rule select its name from the 'Action to take' combo box, enter keywords and wherever suitable in the received message, click the Settings button to set it up. Using the Up/Down buttons you may change the program's Message Rules starting pattern. Keywords Enter keywords or a single keyword, which the program is supposed to find in the provided e-mail message space. Case sensitive Should you activate this option, PostCast would search for a text with a pattern of capital and small letters identical to the one you had entered in the Keywords text box. Copy
Copy message rule will automatically put specific messages into the selected directory. Move Copy message rule will automatically put specific messages into the selected directory. Once the shift has been made, the message will be deleted from the Inbox folder. Delete The program will delete the message from the server and from the Inbox folder as well. Forward Define the e-mail address and the program will automatically send a copy of the received message to it. Save When you select a file location the program will save the text messages therein. If the file already exists, the program will add the received message text to the beginning, while the existing text would be forced to the end. Reply with message
The program will automatically reply to the incoming messages. Click Settings. Enter the Subject together with the message text in the new window, then click the Save button from the toolbar to set up this rule. See Exercise 7 for more details. Run a program You can set up the location of the program you want to start together with the optional parameters, or the program command line. Instead of the executable file you may select any system file, thus starting program relevant to the file type. If you enter the file together with the .txt extension, you will open the file using Notepad. If, however, you enter a URL, you will open a browser. Play a sound Every time you receive a message the program will play the defined sound file. Remove from list
This rule is used to automatically process the Remove/Unsubscribe request and erase the table records that contain the sender's e-mail. Select a table name from the list. You can authorize the program to extract the sender's e-mail address from the 'Reply-To' or from the 'From' e-mail message field. Also, you should select the e-mail column name from the selected table, which will be used by the program to find a matching e-mail address therein. See Exercise 6 for more details. Do not download Similar to the Delete rule. Two things differ, however: · If you select the option of not deleting server messages, PostCast would ignore the message. It would not receive it from the server nor would it delete it. · If you select message deletion at the server, the program will delete the message without receiving it. An ideal way to get rid of the unwanted messages and save yourself some time. Add to the list The settings are the same as for Remove from list message rule; the only difference being that this rule would add sender data to your table. An ideal means to automatic subscribe request processing. See Exercise 6 for more details. |
